Well done Ray - you finally made it!!!

If ever there was a post that should go in the GWS announcements sticky this is it but can I suggest you remind people that the sticky is an announcement, not a discussion, thread.

Two questions - is this the new foam and if so do you think it might be worth mentioning that as well. Presumably if you've used it you see marketing advantages in it?

Second and it may be a US term but I don't understand what RoHS means

Finally how soon can you post some video?

Ray,

I for one will be buying it the moment it hits the shops. Could you show us more details of the motor mounts? I'm looking to mount either EPS300 or EPS400 boxes on it.

Hooray! You made it!

I'll look for the earlybird announcement, then try to convince my wife that I need a P-38 to fly escort for my F5-E. (-:

I think I'll wait for an LHS or somewhere online to get it before I buy it as I don't think I could afford what earlybirds will certainly pay. (remembers back to Formosa 2 earlybird prices).

Anyway, I'm excited about it and may have to opt for the brushless version. It looks great!

ROHS has to do with the amount of lead in a product. It's a compliancy by manufacturers that products will be lead free by a certain date. My company is doing a lot with ROHS but I wouldn't have even thought that GWS had to worry about it.

Must be the wires or solder in the motors?

Things are looking up...

RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) is for the most part the lead free solder (or other electronics) specification that manufacturers are having to conform to. It is a very painful transition for soldering of components, as the alternatives do not have some of the nice characteristics of lead containing solder (particularly a shiney finish to indicate a good joint).

I wonder if the Mabuchi motors (and their soldered lugs) are the hold up? What other electronics come in a GWS plane?

I might hold out for the Brushless version, or just bite it and get the NPS white and get two 350's. Waiting on the Early Bird email to see what the prices are.

Yeah, Rick...

I too became an Early Bird when I was waiting .....waiting and waiting for the FORMOSA-II and then, I receive an e-mail from GWS at China saying that it would be $25.US for shipping!!!!

Good luck in your quest to get an early version
