Can anyone help me calc this?


I have an odd set up that test flew really well yesterday. I'd like to get an estimate of watts, but the p calc I used doesn't show the batts I am using, nor does it likely illustrate the limited burst application of how the motor is actually being run.

Here is the set up.

Neu Motors 1512/ 1 D
6.7 gear reduction
14.5 x 14 slim folding (RFM carbon)
plus 3 degree pitch spinner/yoke
Castle PHX 125 esc (3 volts per cell was the programmed cut off, no cut off inflight)
5S2P Hyperion Litestorm 3700 mah batts (7.4 amp pack)

The motor is run for 3 to 4 seconds and the plane (hotliner/F5B) accelerates in the verticle climb to what I estimate is 140 mph, then the motor is shut off.
After approximately 7 climbs (I wish now that I had counted accurately) , including glides in between, the temps on landing were as follows.

Batts- 111 F
Esc- 120 F (on the top side, exposed to vent)
Motor- 124 F

BTW, the prop is horribly stalled at first segment of acceleration, the higher pich initial part I ssume near the hub; at 80 ish mph, it "hooks up" and zooms pretty good from there to top speed.

Recharging of batts showed 4000mah used of the available 7400 total, cells were still in balance after the flight and peak voltage after charge was normal.

If anyone has any input, it would be great hear.

Are you sure it is 1512/1D - the only 1D Motocalc has is the 1521/1D??

It's the F5B 16 cell comp motor. It is actually a 1512/1 D. If you look at Neumotors site, it is listed there, in the "competition" motor section.

Specs are;
1512/1 D

1000-1200Watts Continuous / 2500- 30sec
Max rpm: 60,000
Stator Dia. 1.5"
Magnet/rotor length 1.2"
Shaft: 5mm
Shaft length: .75"
Weight: Smooth-280g
Dimensions 2.4"L x 1.56" dia.
