"Lift Ticket" is finally available on DVD

Well almost. Many of you may remember when I released this movie on VHS back in December 2000. I'm hoping most of you have worn out your VHS copies :-)

This new 2006 DVD version has a new name, it’s called "Lift Ticket, The Director’s Cut" (LTDC). Rather than convert the original movie straight to DVD I decided to take advantage of this opportunity to re-edit Lift Ticket to make it even better. During the process I shortened some of the scenes, removed others completely, added a bunch of new footage, new music and re-recorded the narration.

Don’t worry, all the classic slope soaring scenes are still there, like Scott Hewett’s smoking F-20 flight in front of the Golden Gate Bridge, the Wallowa Road trip, ballistic footage from Eagle & Chandler Butte’s, Sage shredding a Zagi, interview with Pat Bowman, the man who brought us EPP, combat footage from the Los Banos Bash and Kiona Butte, truckloads of scale footage from various soaring events including, Los Banos Scale, PSS Festival at Cajon and Soar Utah. Speaking of Soar Utah we’ve added three new flights from Point of the Mountain and a whole new sequence that was filmed at spectacular Antelope Island.

Perhaps the biggest changes have taken place with regards to the Dynamic Soaring footage.* Like before, we start out at world famous Parker Mountain and interview dynamic soaring pioneer, Joe Wurts. After Joe shares his story about the first time he encountered DS we travel to NorCal and visit some DS slopes that were discovered after the Roe video made DS more popular. The final chapter in the movie is about chasing the DS speed record. This segment documents in chronological order many of the unofficial world record DS flights and attempts that occurred between May of 2000 (156mph) and October 2005 (301 mph).

LTDC will be available for purchase on August 28, 2006 on Replicated DVD-5 discs. NTSC/All Regions/Dolby Digital/117 min./NR

These are not DVD-R's and are virtually 100% compatible with both NTSC and PAL DVD players worldwide.

There will be a limited run of these DVD's being made. Reserve your copy before August 27 and I'll also include a FREE 11"x17" poster of the LTDC artwork. (while supplies last) You can view the poster image at the bottom of the home page. Send me an email to get on the wait list today. dave@reeseproductions.com (please put LTDC in the subject line).

If any of you slope maniacs missed this the first time around, do yourself a favor and order it ASAP. Long about mid-December you will be soooo glad you did. This was the first slope video that really captured all the magic, IMHO - the opening sequence alone, cut to the shredding guitar music, is well worth the price of a DVD.

Yes, Dave's my friend, but he wasn't when Lift Ticket was first released and I raved about it just as much back then. I still have my VHS but I can't wait till this DVD makes it into my player - I'll just be kickin' back, cruisin' through some of sloping's all-time great footage. Long live Lift Ticket!!

Wow, the Norway teaser is very cool. Especially the cascade of the clouds at the end. Nice work Dave.

It might be kinda cool to see real F-16's spearing down to take out a Rodent, F-20 or even Jart! That would be worth the sacrifice!!!!

Thanks for the support from all of you, I do appreciate it!

Reed- Your beautiful yellow Jart would look awesome smoking in front of the Golden Gate Bridge. I have a smoke-riter with your name on it and will supply camera and getaway van. Like Sam mentioned it would be worth the sacrafice. Assuming we got caught :-)

Erik- I really wish I could make Soar Utah this year but can't. It's definitely one of the best slope events I've ever been to. Good lift and great people. It'll be tough but try to have fun without me ;-)
