The Chronic. My new F3P and F3P-AM airplane.

Hey guys,

I just finished painting my new plane, the Chronic. Should be under 6oz. when it's ready to fly. More pictures as the build continues..

Looks really nice! I like the paint job, bro. Where's the rest of it? What's the size?

Thanks guys!

35" Wingspan
34" Length

Roughly 350 sq" of wing area.

Painting was done with all rattle cans..

I'll be trying a new way of doing linkages. I've seen it on some planes from Germany, but I haven't seen anyone from the states try it out yet. More info on it soon.

I can't wait to fly it.

Looks good Jon.

Will you be posting plans?
What will you be using for the power system?

Aidan, I would love to post free plans. The problem is I have no idea how to do it. I think the easiest way to do it would be to take my drawings, and scan them into the computer... but I don't have a scanner. Any advice?

Pretty cool Jon, Maby to save a few grams, dont use a servo horn, and drill the output shaft of the servo for the carbon rod to pass through. I like your idea!

Thanks Mike! That would work even better. Not my idea... I saw it on a plane from Germany... I had to try it out

Very interesting John..... Thats the first 'new' idea I've seen in quite a while......

The Chronic......... Does that make you Snoop Threedee Dog, or Dr. DDDre?

(I'm guessin you aren't old enough to get that joke.....)

Heh, I've never bought the album.. Thats not my kind of music. Is it yours?

Anyway, here is my setup:

CustomCDR Cool wind
Castle Creations TB-9
Tanic 2s 350
4 Futaba 3110's
GWS 8x4.3 prop

AUW is 7.1oz. Heavier than I was hoping for, but it's really not that bad considering the size, and wing area.

Also, this 'new' way of linking the ailerons works so well! It's fast, it's light, and it doesn't have any slop! Plus, I personally like using two aileron servos. It's much easier setting differential to get axial rolls.

Maiden flight in a few minutes. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

...Mechanical advantage is the whole point of using a linkage in the first place.

I respectfully disagree with you bro.
