Mega Brushless Motor in a Voyager???

Has anyone ever used a Mega brushless motor in your Voyager E-Heli?

If so... Which motor size did you use, pinion, battery and speed control?

Thanks for your help. I just ordered my first V and am trying to save a few bucks on a Brushless setup.

Honestly, none of the Mega motors seem well suited for the Voyager E. Ive flown and owned a number of Voyager Es over the past few years and the BEST motor Ive found is the Hacker - hands down!

The motor must have a Kv of around 3300-4000 RPM. The closest Mega motor to the kind of power on around 10-12 cells in the 22/30/1 - which is a special made, VERY hot wind of motor. cost is around $120. It comes with a 5mm shaft but you need to get a 1/8" shaft so you can use the more readily (Much cheaper too!) RC car pinions to find the right gearing.

Honestly, for around $20 more, you can get the PROVEN Hacker B40-8L or 9L motor. These motors work AWESOME on 10 cells in the Voyager E. They fly OK on 8 cells, but the power is incredible on 10 cells! If you want to fly 7 or 8 cells, the Hacker C40-10S is great for all out power and the 12S is best for duration. If you get a B40 motor youll need a special motor mount to fit it, or to modify the stock motor to fit - but trust me, this was the BEST money I ever spent on my Voyager Es! I fly 2 Voyager Es right now - one has EVERY upgrade out there - carbon frames, blades, fins, metal grips, washout, mixer, base, - EVERYTHING. The other is 100% BOX STOCK - except that they both fly on 8L motors - one uses a 15 tooth pinion and a Schulze 45He, the other uses a Kontronik SMILE 40-6-12. Both fly EXCELLENT on 10 cells - the upgraded one is just smoother and more precise (not required).

The BEST combo period is the Hacker B40-8L and Schulze 45He (Or the new 12.46K) ESC on 10 cells. Thats for pure power. My buddy uses the 9L motor on 10 3000s can gets 10 minute flights! My 8L on 2400s gets 5 minutes of ALL OUT aerobatics. Around 6 minutes of hover.

Good luck, but trust me, spend the $40 or so extra for a Hacker motor. They are PROVEN to work and they work VERY well! I guarantee it

Don't forget the Hacker C40-10S, another excellent choice for the Voyager-e and runs well on 8 cells.
