Where did all the Lite Stiks go ??

I stay away for two months and poof, they are gone. I just did one up like Covey's article but I cut ailerons into the wing. It flys pretty good. I glued the wing onto the stick and should have raised the leading edge app 1/8". Trimmed out the elevator is up about 3/16" which adds drag.

It will fly inverted and will almost do a loop, kinda falls out at the top. Easy to fly in a small area.

I am using a GWS 10x8 cut down to 9". About 10mins WOT on 6x350 sanyo.

I have moved on to the Mini-Max, it is the same price, but a much better and reliable motor is included.

mini lite stick

I cut miy LS down but kept the same size rudder and the same motor.

With a 9x7 prop and a 8 cell 300MA nih pack it goes vertical..a real hot to fly in a small field.

I've converted mine to a mini-lite stick with ailerons.
GWS-DX-1 gearbox with 8x6 prop and qualcomms.
Mighty long flight.

Maybe next one (?)

Mine is too beat up to endure the surgery to convert to ailerons
Maybe the next one

This is another little flyer inspired by LS. It ues the GWS A motor/gear, a 9x7 prop but it is a bit lighter than the mini LS

I need to do some scratch building. I bought a bow for cutting foam cores and have not used it yet. I would like to try a delta slowflyer for the GWS DX.

For a slow{ish} flyer the 1/2" pink foam should work. That is the thickest I have found in GA

Where's the time gone?

I split a bundle of pink blu cor foam ( is there such a thing?) with a friend over a year ago. I still haven't built anything with it.

LightStik

This one goes EVERYWHERE with me. S-2 gearbox, 7/6 prop, and seven 280 NiMHs. It's a rocket. Loop from level. My photo.

Me too ailerons :)

I like what RB did with his....I went to the garage this morning and started eyeing mine for posible ailerons. The major obstacle are the skewer spars that are glued to the trailing edge.
I would have to tear them off and glue them forward of the aileron hinge line.
I'll post pics if I decide to go for the mod.

I have seen another Lite Stik that had some depron ailerons added to the trailing edge. He cut the scallops off to make the TE straight.

When you cut the ailerons out of the wing like I did you end up with a poor hinge setup because the wing is not flat. It works but it is a little stiff until the tape loosens up in the "valleys" of the wing surface.

Having the wing be stiff is one of the things I wanted to accomplish with this plane. The stock wing mounting setup allows the plane to just mush out of any high G maneuver.

I did my original Pico Cub stik per Don Stackhouse. The polyedral works great for a rudder/elevator plane but the flexy wing mounting detracts from the enjoyment.

We need to devise a simple and light method of attaching the wing that will allow for some give in the event of a crash.

Holes Anyone???

Mine has cutdown wings, larger tailfeathers, night lights, and the stock motor. Did I mention holes?? They took out a little more than 1/2 an ounce, but the weight was added back when I put in carbon rods(doesn't matter, had to do it anyway ). Weighs 5.6 oz. w/out battery, 7.5 with lithium. In it's day, I was able to pull off inside/outside loops as well as inverted flight (didn't expect it to be so hard w/out ailerons). Now it's just on display, waiting for the next flight...

Stock it flexes a lot.
It might loop if you dive first

This is the wing before I yanked out the rear skewer spars.
