Any Email 'Experts' out there?

Here is my problem:

I have Lotus Notes 6.5 for email, running on XP, new computer, fast, blah blah....

A couple of people who run Microsoft Outlook send me attachments which are unopenable, they could be anything (.jpg, .xls, .pdf, mpg, .doc) and it always resorts to this filename -----> Winmail.dat

The file size seems to be correct (ex. 175,945 bytes for instance)

is the problem on my end or on their end?

They each seem to say that I am the only one that has this problem, but other people who have outlook send me things and it works.

What gives?

TIA - Dave

Use the program available here to decode and open the winmail.dat files.

It's most commonly caused by incompatibilities between the sender's email software and yours. Some email clients can also have issues with HTML formatted email too.

A little more info here .
