F3P plans
Below is a list of F3P designs (in no particular order) with links to the threads/posts or non RC-Groups sites where you'll find the plans. Thanks to everyone who's already contributed. Post any plans or other useful links you know of and I'll copy them into this post so they can be easily found.
Please don't post plans if the original designer doesn't want them distributed. On RC-Groups F3X Index Index 2, 2.1, 2.2 and Index 3 Pluma Ultra light Yak-54 Breeze Brio-Foamy Hoxaimove (plan below) Calypso (plan below) Snooylution Troll (plan below) Pulse II (plan below) Spoke (plan below) Hoaxi2 (plan below) BlingBling V3 Zläp 3 (plan below) Arctic F3Axis Axis V3 EPP practice plane Voxel Morback (plan below) Morback4D (plan below) Not sure this counts as F3P but I'll include it for now. Silence (plan below) Liptonic (plan below) Cirrus F3P Juka (there's also some info on RCgroups here) Edge Wizard V4 New Elsewhere Knuffel V2 Smove Silwas SouthernX-i Whynot Fundafly B Please suggest more links or post more plans for the list! I'll delete your post after copying your links to the list unless it includes additional information. Feel free to post in this thread but don't be offended if I delete them after a while. The intention is to keep all the content in the first few posts so you don't have to trawl through a huge thread to find what you're looking for. If you want to convert your plans to PDF try CutePDF. It's free and simple to use. Thanks, Aidan FilesView all Files in thread

The following link is a plans site I have used in the past, there is a searchable data base that includes lots of indoor aerobatic aircraft.

Here is the Calypso in PDF format. One sheet 40" x 48". The DXF was in mm, the PDF is in Imperial.
Span worked out to 33.6"/854 mm. Is this correct? I ask because all of the slots are 3.3 mm, not 3mm so it might be 10% oversize. Doing a tiled PDF is possible, but a bit of a pain! I hope the single sheet will do ![]() Pat MacKenzie |

Comparison time!
I've done a revised version of the overlay drawing Justshootme provided earlier. I've re-drawn the outlines of the Clik and Manta just to tidy them up a little. They're still based on Justshootme's outlines.
All 3 planes are scaled so that they have equal wing area. "Wing area" includes the area outlined by extending the LE and TE to the centreline as is standard practice. The approximately calculated neutral points were used to align the planes. The most obvious differences are:
It seems the changes I made when modifying the original Index design has brought it closer to the proportions of the other two designs. Aidan P.S. Thanks for the drawing Pat! |

Hi Aidan, Just a little note reguarding the Index. I used your plans and built one with fan fold foam. The wings and fuse I used two pieces sandwiched togather to make it a little thicker and make it stronger. I used a brushless 400 with 800mah 3 cell lipos. The plane came out at 13oz. with the electronics less battery. I wanted a plane I could fly outside and this fit the bill. Maidened today, and it flew straight out hands off in a slight climb. only trim was a tad of down elevator. Hovers perfect and handles the wind great. Nice plans, Thank you Gary Fuller

It's started turning colder and the days are getting very noticably shorter here in Ireland. I imagine most of us in the northern hemisphere will be starting into the indoor flying season shortly.
I've neglected this thread a little over the last few months. It's quite possible there are a few new plans floating around that I haven't captured here so if you're aware of any let me know and I'll add them. Also feel free to comment on any of the plans that you've tried. I'm interested to learn whether many people are building from these plans and what they think of them. I know the Bling Bling and Yak for example are popular from reading their threads. There's less feedback on most of the other designs. It might also be interesting to use this forum to suggest or report on modifications to designs. There are more F3P designs available commercially now than there were last year but hopefully this won't have a negative effect on our creativity. So get if you're designing and/or building please post your plans, pictures and experiences here! Have a great season! Aidan |

Does anyone have the Knuffel 2 and smove plans? If so could you please PM them to me, as it seems that they were taken off the slowflyworld site.
Thanks, Shockflyer |

Index 2 added
I've added a link and picture for the Index 2.
I was very happy with the original Index but I much prefer the flying characteristics of the Index 2. ![]() You can find my report on it's first day of flying in the Index 2 thread post #14. Aidan |

Aiden - There are pictures and video on the site:
http://pierrickfly.free.fr/avion/Morback4D/ JustShootMe - you had better luck than I did. What software did you use to read the DXF? I could sort of get it into Corel Draw, but not into my CAD or CAM packages. I could get it from Corel into Autocad, but the size was messed up and the text in the title block was gone so I did not know what to scale it up to. There is another F3P plane on the same site, a biplane called the Silence. http://pierrickfly.free.fr/avion/Silence%20F3P/ I had even less luck with that one! ![]() Pat MacKenzie |

You should add the german Liptonic V2 and V3 designs. They are the latest and most refined F3P designs that are available as free plans. The picture is of the V2.
