Here's some pics of my new md500 body. I'm really enjoying the vacuum forming. Right after I took these I tangled with a fence post. Even .020" thick plastic can't beat a fence post.

$25.00 plus $7.00 shipping in U.S. or Canada. This is for the vacuum formed parts that have to be trimmed, assembled and painted. This includes all parts including engine exhaust ports weapon bar, and the laser designator part for the front. I also had to make skid extensions to get the stock skids out farther. These and new body mount bars are included. If you want one fiinished we'll have to discuss price. I also have the Huey body for the same price if anyone is interested. By the way I am forming these out of .015" rigid vinyl.

What adhesive do you use to assemble the fuse halves?

Been using CA (cyanoacrylate) insta-set to be specific. I've been playing with thing called "Goop" but so far I'm not too impressed. I also use an accelerator with the CA when I need a quick set. The way I have been assembling is 1. cut and fit 2. use masking tape to assemble 3. Glue were there is no tape 4. Remove the tape and glue the rest of the joint. 5. if I'm being picky I sand the joint and use a lightweight filler then sand again. 6. Mask and paint. I've been painting the outside, this doesn't give you the shine of painting the inside but it lets you fill any joints.

I was wondering if you were painting the inside or out. Outside painting will cover any CA hazing. I'm doing one of DepronDave's fuses (see his EC-145 post, page 5) and painting the inside (being an RC car body guy) and CA will dull & haze the joints. I've been looking for a clear non-hazing adhesive or epoxy. I'll have to try different types on the scrap mold pieces.

Love the pics at the top of this thread. The Hughes 500 is one of the coolest helis out there. There are so many (real helis) in use, that there are countless color schemes from black to the "Magnum P.I." multi-colored. The 500 was also used at war with Army drab green that had side missles launchers on each side. So many choices to customize the 500. MadMike has to mass these. Everyone will have a blast doing their thing.

Heres a couple of pictures. I don't know about the vortex. If it's close to the same size as the Blade CX I'm sure it will fit. Length iis about 15 1/2" width 2 3/4 height 2 1/2.

I wanted to take my heli to my work place and I feel my Boss will definitely not be impressed with that one..

What is the weight of the canopy. Have you tried the Huey on your helis???
