Crash test dummy
I'm running a Himax 2816-1220 w/6030 prop. The batter is a Thunder Power 2100 mah 3-cell lipo. Probably a little much for this jet, but I like it fast. I did have to add CF rods to the wings though. In a high speed turn, the wings looked like a half moon.

anyone reason for the Himax 2816-1220? Sounds like a slightly heavy beast and overkill on the power for what you're trying to move.

The July issue of the UK mag. RCM&E has an interesting short article on building the Eurofighter kit supplied by Foamyjets uk, including recommended power unit and a few photos.

Bit of a noob with all this.

Can you tell me how many watts will keep this thing going vertical ?

I was thinking of getting a brushless Welgard outrunner that delivers about 110W?

All I can say is WOW! This was my first scratch built plane, and just came home from the field!!!!! This one rocks! I have some video of it I am going to try to figure out how to post.

I used a $29 Tower Pro 2408-21 Star and Tower Pro 18 Amp ESC Combo with a 1350 3s1p Thunder Power pack.

AUW of 11.0 OZ

The question is not if it will do vert....... but how FAST! It was endless, and this thing flew strait as an arrow, never had to touch a single trim the entire flight.

Thanks for the plans!

I just found the thread - very cool looking plane !

Is there anyway to "untile" the plans? I have access to a large formet printer and would like to print out one sheet rather than have to paste 30 small ones together.

DAMN ghiapilot that looks good !!! cant believe how much it sounds like mine. Personaly i think you might be a little tail heavy as the plane seams to be quite twitchy, have you tried a heavier nose yet ?

Wildthing , i would recommend they are always on time with delivery and well priced.

Thanks BlackRat! It now has an all black paint job with a dark blue canopy.

It does fly a little tail heavy..... but is a lot of fun that way and will do a cool maneuver. You take it vertical about half throttle and as soon as it stalls give it wide open. It will torque roll pointing up for a second, then tip over some unknown direction and shoot like a bullet! Just do this at a good altitude so you can recover it (don't ask how I know!!)

This plane is all most indestructible!
