What makes motor "beep"?
I just got my first Kontronik ESC that makes motor "beep" for setting verification. I didn't expect the beep to have different tones. I thought it was going to be a "buzz" sound produced with low current sent to the motor.
Does anybody know how these beeps are produced? Curious mind wants to know... |

The same way a speaker beeps. They just use the windings in the motor like the voicecoil in a speaker. I'm sure the frequence response of a speed 400 motor is pretty narrow though, so don't expect a lot of bass or clear highs

Hi,
They pass signals of the apropriate frequency to the motor, the windings oscilate at that frequency and the magnets and case vibrate, just like the cone of a speaker, passing the sound to our ear through the surrounding air. There are far too many fairies involved in this process to name here but you have correctly named a few. Robert. [This message has been edited by RMFISH (edited 05-17-2001).] |

It's no wonder the Stuff-up fairy & the evil Glitch fairy take control of the newbies planes & present them to the dekitting fairy underground. Can you blame them (the fairies) for getting upset when we tell others their secrets ? This Ezone thing is blowing all the secrets of the "little black boxes" & actually allowing people to understand whats happening in their equipment, so the evil model shop lemon fairy can't get hold of them.... What is the world coming to ???? |

i just wish that someone would capture the evil magic smoke making faerie.. I believe only she has the power to replace any magic smoke that escapes???
Imagine a perfect world where the smoke fairy bottled her product -- the wind faerie listened ??? the tree faerie banned all capture of live aircraft? or even better -- the dumb thumb faerie went on holiday |
