Is it possible to get over 100mph level speed on this????

I just got a MicroJet and I'm looking for a ballistic speed setup. I realize hand lauching on these things is difficult. But what is the best "semi-realistic" setup for top speed? I was thinking about a mega 3turn.... has anyone tried this setup? Any suggestions? Is 100+ mph possible?

I am not an expert, but I don't think it is likely to get a microjet to 100mph, without some mods. A mega 3t or simalr 3000ish kv motor is a good start. I think 4S lipos would be needed to get near 100mph. I think some drag reducing mods would also be needed. Supposedly the Funjet is a cleaner airframe, and I am putting a 3t Mega in it, but only expect 70ish on 3S, maybe less. These are small airframes to get moving that fast, and will be hard to see quickly, they cover a lot of airspace at 100mph.
If you really want 100+, a sokol or other sp400 pylon racer would do it with the mega 3t. These are very well designed airframes built for these kind of speeds. I have never seen one in person, but they look fast in the pictures and videos. I'm sure someone who has done the mods will post, and maybe have had a radar pass.

Hmmm... pylon racers seem cool but I'm on a tight budget. Crap I was hoping I could hit 100mph on a 3 cell! Thanks for the info tho.

you should be able to do this quite easily with just carbon and fiberglass reinforcement, look in the flying wing section, theyre getting 100 mph on 2 cells

Just look in the Stryker threads, everybody in there claims their plane goes 100 MPH

Are you saying that if a stryker will do it... then this should?

It takes a lot to get up over 100MPH unless you have a really low drag airframe like a hotliner. A small plane like the MicroJet moving at 80MPH is not that hard to achieve and 80 MPH on a little MicroJet is real hard to keep up with.

i have not radared mine but with the set up that i have i'm doing close if not just over 100mph.
i switched from running the Astro20 with the mega 3T i'll let you know what i find is the diff. between both of em'.
i would definately reinforce the wings with a solid CF bar,i take turns almost full throttle and it holds very well.

There have been some tests done, with identical power setups, the Micro-Jet was a few mph faster than the new FunJET. The FunJET with Mpx BL480-4D, 3 Lipos and APC 5x5" was measured at 170km/h - that's 105.7 mph.

I've been doing some research on the 450TH and this thing looks like it would SMOKE the mega 3t. What kind of speeds would I be looking at with this?

Also can you ONLY get these from the website?

You've got to be kidding. Where did you get that info???
The mega 3 turn can handle 600 watts if ya do it right. The 450DH tops out at 300watts and they recommend you don't even do that

My MicroJet with a Mega 3 turn on 3s with a 4.75x4.75 APC would get reeaaally close to 100mph. With 4s 20c lipos, it was gunned at 120
35 amps on a 14.8 v lipo was drawing a tad over 400 watts.
