Flamingo Japanese Design from the 70's

Here are the pictures of my recently built airplane ,this is an Japanese project from the 70's I used to fly in the 80's with an 46 4T.

I just find the Design of that plane fantastic and actual,and decided to do it electric.

Fully foam ,carbon fiber reinforcements,and total weight with lipo 965Gms !!

Some datasheet;

BP 2815-5 Wye /12x8 HD Prop.
Himodel 2200ma 4s 20/30c

The performance are amazing!!My favorite ship now!!

I finally retired my .25 sized Flamingo last year due to wood rot and fuel soaked covering. I still have a NIB kit with floats stashed away. At one time this was sorta the Japanese equivlent of a Ugly Stick, every body flew one at one time or another.

Since I began flying electrics as a pioneer here in Brazil,the Flamingo didn't got out of my mind.

For my lucky ,now found the time and good prices for all the equipment,a new generation of the electrics aloud us to do that.

With the foam already in its form ,I build that ship in one night!! The decoration took more time than the construction and equipment installation.14 hours Total time !!

I really felt in love with this electric and light version of that plane!!

I've a 40" wingspan reduced version I,m building.certainlly will not fly like the larger one !!
