Hi Chuck,

The mounting stick is glued at this angle...poor quality control.

At my company have some assembly processes that require epoxy attachment of motors to gearboxes. We have had problems with uncured epoxy when the part was packed in the box. Your motor mount looks like that kind of situation.

Spoke with Horizon Hobby Support, they are willing to ship me a new wing but I have to ship the original one back....sigh...I live in Canada so...it take some time for me to get the new wing back not to mention the cost of shipping such a large item...anyways...I guess I will have to fix it myself...note to all, inspect all parts of a kit before buying it....lesson learnt.

Did you buy it from a hobby shop? If so I would really work on them to make it right....

If anyone is interested in buying one of these at a good price, my local hobby shop has one and it'll be on sale tomorrow @ something around $120 . The shop is http://www.dougshobby.com/ and their phone # is rght there on the home page. Give em a call if interested, shipping of course is NOT free at that price. He's got the twin E-flite motors in stock as well.

At that price, bring your boxing gloves if you show up there in the morning.

Hi Mike,

I bought the last one and could have returned it but...decide to fix it my self...just needs a strip of hard balsa trimmed to straighten the motor mount out.

I few other notes of interests.

I junked the stock clevises and used metal ones.

Resoldered the joints between the push rod and thread coupler as mine were suspect.

Anyways she is ready to maiden....

Cheap alternative motor to E-flite 400 3500kv outrunner?

http://www.raidentech.com/40brmodeforr.html

Would the 400DH shown in the link be the exact clone of E-flite 400 3500 KV outrunner for the fans of the airliner? Or is it at least a cheap alternative motor?

Funny, the pic at least just looks like an Esskay 400XT with the shaft reversed...interesting...

I am trying 2 of these and 2- 25 amp ESC's will post how they work out. BTW you can get them with the 2.3mm shaft so you can use the stock fan blades.

Looks great! How much is shipping and shipping time though? Also how do you tell them you want the 2.3mm shaft?

Be sure to let us know your test results.
