night flying is not hard, it is the landing that gets interesting.

Robart 602s will soon be available with air vs the mechanical that they are now.

Electric Jet Factory or Jet Hangar Hobbies sell mini retracts as well, pneumatic, which are easier to set up than mechanicals which need at least two servos for the retract action plus the steering servo which also means higher load on the bec (might need seperate flight battery.

here is a video of Chuck's airliner, and of few pics of it in the air. he is using the recommended brushless setup and 1 2500mah pack. CG is 1 inch back from recommended. he tried ROG at the grass field but there is just too much friction, so it was handlaunched.

Here is the second video, Complete with loops, Rolls, and some inverted flying.
The first few seconds are power-off gliding.

CAUTION...its a 37MB .MOV file

Please right-click and save-as, instead of playing in your browser.

So what are you using 2 4S 2100 TPs?

Can you list your setup? Thank you!

Got some video of CHuck Mchugh's airliner. He added a foam tab on the bottom so that he can hand launch it by himself, since our club field is a grass field.

dogon,
Thanks for passing on the tip for hand launching. I added the foam tab to mine last night and flew it three times today. It works great!

Hi Chuck,

The mounting stick is glued at this angle...poor quality control.
