Too darned hot outside to fly !.

Hello, my name is Tic;

Since I'm sure many of you have enjoyed reading my previous yearly "Winter- It's too cold out to fly", and "Spring- it's too windy/wet out to fly" threads, I'd like to take this time out to post this year's annual "Summer- It's too hot out to fly" thread.

My comments below:

Thank you, and as a public service announcement I'd like to remind everyone tomorrow is June 1st, so please turn your calendars ahead one page before going to bed tonight.

Signed;
Tic

I bet sitting in that greenhouse on the tarmac waiting to lift off can be brutal.

As for whether it is too hot to fly models, hardly. If I can play 3 sets of tennis and walk away from it then it isnt too hot to fly. Sure, after the 3rd set I looked like I had elected to just wizz in my shorts and my shirt weighed about 4 lbs. It just isnt that physically taxing to fly a model to say it is too hot to fly.

I'm flying this weekend and it's going to 110+ here in AZ. Never to hot to fly.

I'm in England...can someone explain exactly what 'hot weather' is? I can't find it mentioned in the reference books here....

I'm with TIC (where is he anyway?)

It's too dang hot and muggy to fly. The batts get hot, the motor gets hot and the air's so heavy I swear the planes fly slower. Not to mention the sticky skin, sunburn, chiggers, biting bugs and pollen count. Gotta love the Midwest

Oh, I still fly. Just with more crabbing...
