So my dad gave me his never before ran 62" +/- Weed Eater Boat (update with pics)

I believe its 62" I will get more exact soon.

It has a overhauled weed eater engine in it. IE: water cooled head etc. I believe the guy who built the motor was R & D Hobbies in Las Vegas but I am not positive.

Needless to say I have allt he radio gear it just needs to be linked up and adjusted properly and the radio box sealed.

What I don't know is the mixure for it, or the break in times, a good way to run water through it while breaking it in. There is no clutch so its all go all the time.

Any advice would be great. Currently the boat is at my In Laws but I will be bringing it home soon so I will be look directly at it and answer questions.

Thanks in advance

eX

If you pick up some 2 stroke oil it will have mixing instructiosn that should work.

That hardware is freakin beautiful nice and polished. I would say run it at what is recomended for a Zenoah or Quickdraw motor. That looks very similar to them.

Hi there. Great looking boat that looks well built. Motor is possibly a JB Hanson Zenoah with a 25cc Quickdraw kit added. Quickdraw state it produces 7.7 hp at 16.500rpm Will beat a stock Zenoah hands down. A good quality synthetic 2 stroke oil as used in motor bikes will do the job . Here in Aus I use Castrol TTS mixed at 40 to 1 ratio when run in. We run in at 30 to 1 ratio for about 2 hours at varying throttle settings and only up to 3/4 throttle to bed the rings in. Run for short periods only and allow the motor to cool down between runs. This ensures a long life for the motor.

Would run in on the water only as this puts a load on the motor and use a low pitch prop at first. .Motor can be started out of water with the pickup attached to a tap for cooling.
Run only at LOW RPm out of water as high RPMs could damage the motor.

Yes I have found now that it is a B.H. Hanson motor and I am currently in contact with him about the running... you all were right

I have now found that the pick up bracket got bent in shipping so that is a 15 dollar repair up first!
