Hi guys!

She handled beautifully, take off was a bit marginal due to the grass/bumpy field,as you can see I just got above the crops!

Take off run was about 30 meters,I had to take off the narrow part of the field due to the wind direction,so I just opened the throttle and hoped for the best!

Climbout was superb,no trimming laterally, but 2 clicks of downtrim was needed.
The tailerons work superbly, beautifully smooth turns,c of g bang on too!Really beautifully balanced aircraft in flight,Grumman sure know their stuff!
Really it was so uneventful,it was like flying a trainer.
1/2 throttle most of the flight, when I opened the taps at about 150 feet cruising altitude, she accelerated so fast,it was a bit scary.Oh, and those Schubis in the air, what a sweet and smooth sound!
As you can tell,I am very pleased with this aircraft,I couldn't stop (and still am!) smiling
Next flight will explore wingsweep.Videos up on Friday, and more stills too (my friend had his camera and is putting them onto disc for me)
I would like to express everyone here on the EZONE that gave me encouragement, and help with motor/fan/battery/ESC choice too.
This is my first ever EDF and am feeling proud!
More later,
Forgot to say, flying weight was 12.5 lbs

Job well done... Now I need to figure out how to copy that building thread down to disk and save it for building one of those down the road.

Paul, scroll to the bottom of the page, hit the "show printable version" button and save it as an .html file. I think you can "show all posts on one page" I'll try it and see.

PS. Yup, it works. I just tried it. 938 posts. LONG page!

Matt- Congratulations Although I think you will have that toothy smile on your face for about a week. Flights on Friday will only prolong the smiles for another week. I have my popcorn ready and waiting for the video. You have just become a full fledged member of the BIG EDF crew

Whats next?

Congrats on the first flight of the Tomcat, It's great to see that it didn't have the same Hydraulics problem the first real tomcat did when it first flew!. Congrats again mate, and looking forward to a video/s and more pics.

Btw, what size retracts did you use again.
