Ok, been flying the Maxi 2 for the past week, what a blast! That wing really floats well !

I was going to start the build tonight on the Maxi, and just spent 2 hours reading all the threads from page 20 or so to now

on page 57, Post # 57, I see a good choice of motors to use

I'll be building my first FPV, using this wing

So far I belive I'll be using somewhere around 3S - 2x200mah lipos, and Go Pro HD, with fat Shark Goggles . I'm still learning all the FDV stuff

I have a few questions, as I went to start the build, and am all ready stuck

Whats used to glue the 2 halves together? Welders glue?
Whats a good method without making it to complexe to stiffen the elevons
I need motor/esc combo, good for FPV, carrying the Go pro etc
I also want to add LED for night flying, what do I need to do this?
Lastley, if I dont want to fly FPV, can I remove the camera and still fly it with the larger motor and same lipos, how will it ballance with camera's etc removed?

Do I need to build 2 of these, one strickley for FPV, and one for a sport/night flyer?

I really don't need a sport flyer, I just wanted a good high viz night flyer, and FPV plane

I have the Swift 2 for sport flying also have a ton of 3D airplanes I fly

Thanks for your help!

You need to keep the balance. So if yoh take the 200 grams of gopro off. You need to add weight.

For night. You need leds. And a brushed motor esc to control the on/off of the leds.

A motor with 1 kg of thrust wil be a good motor. Kva around 1000-1400

Thanks guya1

Hows this look for the motor? I found it on page 57 , post # 852:

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...00Kv_550W.html

And use this for the on/off switch for the LED's ?

The motor is a huge overkill ...on this maxi i use this motor

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=6247

I can go 90 deg up.. 20 amps max with 10*8.4 prop

And lighter...
I can go about forever .. :-)

I use this for the leds. If you have a knob or slider you can dimm the light .. and it's less $$

What FPV system are you using? Is that motor enough power to pull the wing around with the FPV and equipment?

Should I build 2 of these?

One just for flying, build it light, and add LED's

The other just for FPV?

Tx 900/500
Vcam hk 17$

As i wrote. The motor pulls 90 degrees up.
If that is not power enough ....?

ok sounds good, I just wanted to make sure it can power everything with the load of the FPV< etc

What are you using for your FPV? I need to look into that now

I glued the wings together last night

It maybe alittle while, as I'm also building it for FPV flying, I'll probabley buy this to start:

http://www.readymaderc.com/store/ind...roducts_id=699

But a few of the items I want are outta stock

What size Hitec you guys using for servos? HS82mg?

I bought some 225mg for it, but I don't like them, way to heavy, so I sold them last night
