can some one tell me?

i just got a 30 amp ESC and just want to run a 380 with a 6x4 prop and i have some small battery packs made of 7 & 8 cell AAA nimh's and they only have the small 2 pin bec conectors on the battery packs and i 'm not sure how big of a motor can i run on these bec conectors that's about 3/8" long X 3/16" X 3/16" with a small grove down one side, will they hold up to the draw of a 380 or 400?

maybe if i don't open it up WOT or try to climb for any really hard climbs?

thanks,
and happy flying,
jeff

I've had no luck with more than 8 amps with most of the nimh aaa cells... I haven't been able to run anything more than a 370
geared on a 7X5.5 prop on the nimhs. My 400's run at 10-12 amps on a Zagi prop and more on a 6X3.

I could not find a 380 motor in the above ...I was trying to get an idea of what the current draw would be with your combination.

I agree with Scott. The batteies might be a limiting factor.

Another hint- if the connectors get warm during a short bench test, its a sign that you should move up to bigger stuff.

I've used JST connectors up to around 8amps.

380 and 400 are the same thing. A company (Graupner?) has the rights to the name "Speed 400", that's why they have different names even though they are the same motor.
