Flight Sim. cable

I am looking for a cable to connect my futaba sport 4 ch radio to usb. On the back of the radio it looks to be like an s-video cable. Anybody know where to get a cable for this, and does anybody have a link to that free flight simulator that everybody raves about. Thanks

Horrible Test Pilot
Check out this link.
I can't remember their homepage, but I bought a cable to interface my Airtronics to my computer. Price depends on what kind of connection you want (USB, Serial port, Game port, ect).
I believe they have cables for just about any kind of radio, and FMS comes free with the cable.

Another option is http://www.rc-electronics.co.uk/

Everyone on the FMS forums seems to rave about Ken's interfaces. Never any problems and he ships world-wide.

The basic address for the free FMS sim is http://simulator.home.pages.de/

BTW I don't believe matt clement (the first link given) makes the more complex USB interface.

Matt wasn't making USB back when I bought a parallel port unit from him. Don't know about now...

I didn't think FMS was compatible with USB devices. Read that a while back on one of the USB adapter cable mfg.'s website. Was it just their cable then?

Matt did an excellent job on my adapter, and has a stellar reputation on this forum. If you don't mind the serial or parallel port connections, I'd say go with his stuff.

One other thought. A buddy of mine has the new USB Tx/adapter for the RealFlight simulator. He can either use it by itself or plug his Hitec Eclipse into the "buddy port" and use his real Tx. Pretty cool for about $80.

FMS / Futaba

As I've mentioned before, I use Ken Hewitt's PIC based USB cable and have had no problems whatsoever. I think it's one of those things that you get and take for granted that it will always work - no glitches, smooth, reliable - the thing just works. I wish I could say the same for most other things I use.
I use XP/Futaba FF6 and FF7/FMS/RCCSIM etc

Doesn't look like Matt makes one for JR radios...if he did I'd be interested in one for those rainy days...

hello guys

sorry i didnt catch this thread.

i do not currently make a JR interface.

i do not currently make a usb interface.

the usb interfaces work much like a joystick interface from what i understand. its the same as having a joystick hooked up which will work on ANY simulator. i might start working on a joystick interface for the higher levels of compatibility with other games/sims.

i would also second ken's interfaces as i have heard only good stuff about him. steve lewin is also a great guy to ask questions about FMS as i see his name a lot on the info boards. between me and those two gentleman one of us should be able to help you.

I have one of Ken's USB cables (connected to my Hitec Flash 5X Tx) and I'm very happy with it.

Joystick interface, works with any flight sim or software, comes with FMS and models on a CD, it has a JR version...and best of all they are right here in North America (U.S.)

I have one and love it. They have wicked customer service as well.

The RC-Electronics cable is a bit cheaper ($40 compared with $65) - although the shipping cost may tip the balance. Both can run other flight sims apart from FMS.
