f-22 with jeti brushless

Want to get the Wattage F-22. How well does it fly stock and do you think it will work with a jeti brushless (15/4).

Thanks in advance for the help.

PS if anyone can point me in a direction to see a video of this plane in flight I would appreciate that to.....

Real Men Fly Pink Planes...

Well, the F-22 is a tail heavy aircraft stock. Check the weight of the motor compared to the stock motor set up. You will have to add the difference in weight to the nose probably. It should skoot along nicely with the motor. This not a high speed airframe though and likes to fly with a slight nose high attitude, but looks good in the air.

I have an airframe and 2 motors that I have retired. I had plans to make it into an EDF at somepoint but have not gotten to it. It has been crashed and nose reglued, it aint pretty but might be worth a spare if you testing goes awry. The plane is flyable and behind the canopy is in good condition. I will sell the thing to ya for $35 shipped if you want it a cheap expirement.

My F22 Brushless

I have a brushless motor in my Wattage F22 and it is an amazing performer.

My set-up is:

Hacker B20 15L + 4:1
8 x 6 APC Slow Fly Prop
9 cell 600 AE pack
Flying weight = 19.1 oz

After launch the plane will go straight up for at least 100 feet. Full throttle fly by's are around 60 MPH. With the Hacker and the 600 AE cells, the plane is still very light with amazing slow speed performance. I can lay it back to almost a 45 degree angle and make near walking speed slow passes. On landing the plane skids 1 or 2 feet, So Cool!

I believe that Jeti motor is too heavy and too much for a 20 oz plane. Any of the speed 400 size brushless motors would work great, and on 9 or 10 cells you'll have a rocket on your hands.

I remember seeing some video link in a post I found searching for F22 in this forum sometime back.

This is one of if not the best foam jet I could find. You won't be dissapointed with this plane, especially brushless!

I Fly may F-22 with a hacker b20 -18L direct with a 5.7x3 prop. It rips and it is vertical after takeoff, speed is about 75-80on a fresh pack. I get about 4 mins of high speed low passes and general turn and burn performance on 8 kr600ae cells. This is 1 of my best flying aircraft with this setup. I have over 40 flights and have not had 1 bad landing.(knock on wood) I realy like the hacker motors for spd 400 size planes, very small and light weight motors with amazing quality.

This sounds like a good project for a MEGA 1615/4T and 8-10 hecells! Its got landing gear too. One question, is the airframe handling the increased speed ok? I know the stock f22 is a bit of a slowflyer. Did you guys do any reinforcing on fuse?
