Yippee!

Air-2-air video. Chasing my buddy's plane around the field.

A new video I made today. We flew around like this for a while and when I landed I had 15 minutes of raw video in the 3700. Took for ever to edit.

Smitty,

My guess is that he was using a Nikon Coolpix 3700.

Lynxman,

Was the video recorded at 15fps?

Your video made me feel sick!

As in air sick, there was so much yanking and banking

Formation flying next, we expect no less!

I liked the video. I felt that I was in the cockpit, nearly fell out of my chair when you came close to the light pole! Whew!

Who put that tree there??
Another nice video, Lynxman. Say, can you show how you mounted the camera on your E-Starter? I'm guessing, based on another photo I saw, that you chopped some foam out to hold the camera in front of the windshield - is that correct?

Thanks!

that's exactly what I did. I made clean cuts in the windhield to make room for the camera. The piece I cut off fits nicely in place if I want to fly with the camera inside instead.

A 1/4" holds the camera down through a fibreglass plate. The balsa block is there to angle the camera slightly downwards. It's hard to take pictures of the mount with the camera mounted, I'm fast but not that fast.

Cool idea! I remember reading a while back that you had some drag issues with the camera hanging below the fuse - did this mount help? Sorry for so many questions

This is much better than having it hanging underneath, but I prefer the side-view for flying high up because the climb rate and stability is so much better. I Couldn't keep up wth my friend when he flew fast because his plane was so much cleaner than mine with the camera.
