I think you should check out the wings/ailerons in the 3D moth. If you want ailerons that won't break your wings....you're going to have to make the wing stronger and add 2" ailerons to the trailing edge of the wing. You need top and bottom ailerons to get the most out of it. I use a carbon fiber rod across the leading part of the wing and across the wing by about 3/4. If you haven't studied how they do it yet.... I think everyone should. I've never come close to breaking a wing even while trying to fly 3D (what a joke!)

Boy you don't know what you got till it's gone.
For years my moth has pretty much been up an flyable.
But a few weeks ago I broke a prop, and finding one locally has been impossible.
I ordered one from headsuprc wed. It's been shipped but I sure miss my moth.
I gotta new fiego motor from BP hobbies But I'm considering another moth that is more of a hot rod.
Something like the 2717-17

Hi Everyone, I had what I believe is a GWS Tiger Moth given to me for free. Can someone help identify this and confirm if it's a Tiger Moth?

The way the electronics are shoved in it - I'm not sure what Motor and ESC are in it. I tried to reach the ESC but was concerned about damaging things so decided I'd worry about it later. The guy was flying a 3S 1300mah lipo in it - that he gave me. The Rudder had broken off (CA Hinges broke) - so I cut out the old ones and fixed it up (this was a first for me - never built/repaired planes). My only experience flying planes so far has been the Champ and I have a UM T-28 that just arrived that I've not flown yet.

I got it bound to my DX6i and everything appears to be working fine. Figure I'll fly the UM T-28 for a bit to get use to ailerons before taking this up. The guy told me with the 1300mah 3S lipo to set my timer around 8 minutes.

Any info you guys can give me would be greatly appreciated. I have lots of reading to do.

It looks like a GWS Pica Tiger Moth. A 1300ma 3s seems like over kill for this plane. I fly for over 20 min on 800ma 2s.

Hmmmmm.... that's not a Pico Tiger moth. The wings are thick and build up for an airfoil on each of them. The fuselage is not cut that way either. It is a Tiger Moth, but no idea who built it. It looks good. I don't understand the 3s battery either.
What motor is in it? Fly it like you stole it!

The wing span is ~40". I know it has a brushless Turnigy Motor but can't figure out size.

I'll try and take the cowl off again tonight or tomorrow and snap a pic or two of the motor.

The GWS Pica is only 31 inches. I just thought maybe someone had mod a GWS a little but I guess not.

Looks like a GWS TM-400 to me. There is a separate thread for it on here.Maybe one of those guys will tell you. I know some of them frequent both threads.

It is a TM400 for sure. And an easy flying plane.
Do be aware that the landing gear mount in stock form can come out on a hard landing. An easy fix though. Plane lands slow and easy so no worries. I have had a few of them.
