My TM mtor mount broke! What to do???

I fly my TM into the tree and while retriving it from the branch of the tree,
it fell straight into the ground! The cowl and the motor mount broke!
Can anyone help? Is there anyother way then to drill the piece of spruce out?

Many of us have broken the motor stick in our Tiger Moths.

You can cut out the broken stick and glue in a new one with expanding polyurethane glue as shown in this thread.

Or, you can make a removable stick that can easily be replaced if it breaks, as shown here.

Or, you can make a more elaborate adjustable motor mount, like this one.

Good luck -- you'll be flying again soon!

epoxy it back on!

The easiest thing to do is to Epoxy it back on. Mine had a pretty jagged brake about 1/2 and inch from the fuselage... so I put some 5 minute epoxy on both ends of the stick and held them in place (for 5 miutes) and it's as good as new. Hope this helps.

Gust of wind blew mine of table and broke the mount stick also.

It was a jagged break and went right back together good as new with Med CA ( foam friendly )
Stronger than new. Elemers ProBond (water cleanup) would probably be even stronger.
But takes overnight to dry.

New cowls are available as well as other parts I hear.

Hi DaveW,
For the cowl, it would take a few weeks before I can get it ...
I bought my TM from Aust. In Malaysia, there's none...
That's the reason why I have to make my own out of coke bottle.
The material of it are much stronger and it only weigh a lil more...
