I have always been tempted to fly my heli over the lake in a park here where I frequent. Now, I'll definitely won't do it.
I feel for you man. Good luck and I hope you catch a big Blinged fish. |

You said 8 to 12 feet away? How deep? Seems awfully close to give up.
If you are on Long Island NY, i would dive for it, but I do fear brown trout |

Stick with the treble hook, biggest you can use, and wrap the shank with lead. Pick an area that you think it is in and systematically work a pattern around the spot where you think it splashed.
A call to your local Dive Rescue Team would likely enlist some help, sometimes for a small donation to the team. If the team won't help, see if any of there divers do side jobs. I would, but you probably wouldn't want to pay my expenses for travel and such. Don't wory too much about the water quality, you ought to see some of the places people drive cars into, throw guns into, dump bodies into...........what goes down, can come up Rusty Firefighter/EMT/Public Safety Diver |

Nah hes in Fort Wayne, IN. And its a pond in his backyard! Not a lake, about 75 feet across at most And about 25 feet deep. And I don't know what type of chemicals the board assosiation dumps in there for the fish, so who knows if you want to get in there (without turning permantly green pigment)
At his house I have flown several times over the pond in huge fear and severly warning him...but that was me flying his heli...NOT MINE! But anyways I guess you are gonna start flying in that 6!!! open lots in front of your house where I 3Ded Ken's R50SE! But on a good note, he is an excellent pilot! In the last two months and now is starting loops and mild aerobatics! Stall turns etc. Doing great. By the way like you said earlier on the phone I'll fish for it for a 100$ Let me know the day i'll do it. (hey I was gonna do it for free, but i'll take the 100$) It was a nice Trex. Keep'em Flying, Nick |

Nick. C'mon. 75 Feet? Are you serious. Its at least a thosand feet long and several hundred feet wide. If it was 75 feet I'd just sink a rope and troll the bottom. But anyway, 100 bucks to the first who finds it! And no, fishing after dark is no joke. I can't see under the water anyway and I'm just aiming for the vicinity of where she went in anyways. |

Nick, Thats quite a compliment from a pilot like you. I always figured you'd think I was pretty awful. I don't think I'll ever conquer the moves you have but I throughly enjoy flying even at the level where I am at now. |

i'd have a blast figuring out how to get that piece out of there =] home depot, a few lengths of rope, a couple metal-hook rakes.. Maybe a neighbor has a boat? make a bigass dredge =] take the boat out to the area it sank, drop the dredge a little farther out than you think it is, then tow the ropes back to shore, then drag the dregde in =] Of course you could end up burying it even more ;X
Fishing seems kind of iffy.. You could cast right on top of it, and the hook could just not catch. I'd say a great idea would be to hire a turtle and tell him, say "mr turtle, find my trex and you can have my tootsie pop nyah nyah". Make sure that if yer fishing you have a good amt of weight on the line and a rather bigass hook, preferably one of those 4-way hooks.. so you reduce the chance of the hook just not catching. |
