Well done. Anything under 6.5 oz. is what I would consider 'very light' for a Gambler. Be prepared to balast with a half ounce in 5-10 mph winds. Under 5mph your reduced weight will be awesome.

If there are 5 to 10 mph winds, I am going sailing anyway, so I want to keep it light.

I think that one way to get a heavy plane is too much glue. CA and epoxy are great, but since they cure rather than dry they add more weight. Go sparingly on the glue. It is good for probably 1/4 oz.

Or MORE if you're heavy handed. I completely agree with your assessment of glue use. Less is more.

I'm pretty sure that's where mine picked up an extra 1/4 to 1/2 oz. I used a bottle with a wide cut to the tip, frequently causing more CA to wick out than I wanted. Lesson learned!

I started building lastnight, when putting in the wing hold down block in the back of the fuse
it sticks above the fuse sides by 1/16". Should I sand it flush to the sides or leave it?

The wing needs to sit down flush on the wing saddle, so the block should be flush with the sides (if I understand what you're saying). A picture would help.

The block only extends up 1/32", I'll sand it flush to the saddle. I got my 400mah battery today and test fitted it and it's perfect. I cut the shrink wrap to allow the lead to lay more flat. It slides all the way up to the nose without any binding. That's going to make it much easier to balance. Sure glad I found Radical Rc

Finished building, auw 6.5 oz. the only thing I did different was to run the pushrods on the outside of the boim. Used doculite to cover it and tinted it red for some color.

I actually built it on a 2' x 6' plastic table in my living room. I wish I could set something up at work. Alot more tools there.
