Ag?

I must not be paying attention, but what does the AG stand for?

The Mark Drela design airfoils are designated AG. Looking forward to some flight comparisons with the original. Will definately order a wing kit when available.

Thanks for starting this build thread Impact, I'm looking forward to watching your progress on the build.

Hopefully this thread will gather the support the Gambler+ build thread did. That one was getting a bit bloated.

For people just starting to read this thread, there is also a lot of great information in the old Gambler+ build thread here: https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=227780

Everything you wanted to know about Mark Drela's AG airfoils, direct from the source. If you're reading threads in this forum, you can't do any better for getting background information than doing yourself the great favor of reading this page: http://www.charlesriverrc.org/articl...t-airfoils.htm

Projected cost for wing kits is $40

Projected cost for fuselage kits is $40

ETA for either isn't known yet.

Problem is for the wing I need to include CF tubes and most of the iron-on CF ribbon (a major cost component of the kit). For the fuselage there's the CF boom and the remainder of the iron-on CF. Both include about 50% of the laser-cut wood and other loose materials.

36 g pre-sanding - that's good control on the extra glue Impact. After sanding the wingtips and TE and adding the sheeting you should be about 40g. Very nice.

Allan,

Are the kits in stock? (*edit.. oh.. i see you can buy them now on your site*)

Do you think the Gambler-AG would make a good first DLG?

Impact...nice pics so far. Those outboard wing panels are just so good-looking! They'd make a neat little wing for a smaller plane, wouldn't they? I've held mine together several times and imagined what kind of plane would be cool with a wing like that...maybe a little sloper or hotliner? Please tell me that others have thought the same thing.
