Air Ace B17, P38, Hawkeye, Mosquito.......

My parcel of the new Silverlit models turned up last night from Tableracer. Included was a brochure showing the next Air Ace models

http://www.airace.de/

The B17, P38 and Hawkeye look cool. The Mosquito and Fokker F50 look kinda strange. There is also a cute King Air.

If the B17 really does have 4 working motors, this opens up great possibilities !

I bought the LeO 451 when it came out. I've never flown it as the flight video on the website looked terrifying !

Did you really get the new (2006) planes from the Silverlit Company (maker of the Aero Aces Bi-Plane and Mono-Plane, aka X-Twin? Let's get a flight report, schnell! The brochure you mention & photos posted are products made by "ACME the game company OHG", use NIMH batteries (not LiPo) and have a bad rep (at least in this forum.) Beware!!! Let us know about whatever you got from Tableracer. Thanx

relaxr already penned a few notes on the new Silverlits :
https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=492863

I hope to fly tomorrow if the weather cooperates. I have glided the models the length of my living room and confirm relaxr's observation that the new monoplane is a real honey!
I also have test glided the one with foreplanes, but wasn't able to draw any conclusions.
I don't have the new biplane but a friend of mine does. He's not too happy with it.

Yes I've heard the not too good stories about the Air Aces. My LeO 451 will probably remain a model to hang up. Maybe the new ones are better, who knows ?

Yeah, these seem to be made by the same folks who make the Phase3 "Betty" and LeO-451. I have seen the P-38 and Mosquito also listed as being manufactured by the same Chinese factory on some website I found when looking up the LeO-451. I have the LeO-451 as well and it's a bit of a wild ride. Wouldn't mind trying the B-17, P-38 and Mosquito. My guess is that if they do appear in the US, they may be via Phase3/ Global Wattage.

Hmmmm -- the B-17 showed up in the January 2008 issue of Backyard Flyer (page 18). Don't ask me how I received the January 2008 issue in October...

Anyway, they don't give ANY information on where to purchase this little flyer -- I'd love to give it a whirl!

SUBSCRIBED to thread.

US availability

I think some of these are available at

http://www.boomerangs.com/rcairplanes.html

B-17 = W8809

Mosquito = W8803 (incorrectly identified as a Spitfire )

Prices are more than reasonable.

I don't work for boomerangs or have anything else to do with them.

I ordered mine from Shenzhen.

They're popping up everywhere.

The early models, covers "Potez" = Leo 451, Betty(or B-25 sorta - WD8802), P-38 (WD8004)
