Please suggest a decent charger...

I'm new to this hobby and would like a suggestion on a good field charger for a Sky Scooter Pro. I am going to be getting some extra 1600 mah packs for it, and need something that will work better than the one that came with the kit.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

small electrics r BIG FUN

I would recommend a Simprop Intelli Peak/ FMA Supernova or Schulze 330d . They all charge-discharge Nicads manually or Auto mode , and nimh cells on manual mode. About 125.00 for the Intelli-Peak or 165 for the 330d. The first two chargers are basicly identical.

The Schulze will do Li-ion if you think park fliers are in your future.

battery charger

Thanks for the info, what is Li on battery? I am only interested in park flyers, but I have only heard of ni mh or nicads.

Li-ion is a very high capacity battery, but not alot of current yet. They are used alot with the smaller motors like a GWS DXA that is used for the pico stick or lite stik and the tiger moth.

The charger you want depends also on how much money you want to spend. I have two chargers, the first one did not do the NiMH batterys very good, so I got another which I am very happy with and it was inexpensive also. It is the GWS 2002 charger and it does both NiMh and NiCAD. I got mine from I think there is a review on it somewhere on ezone. It does not discharge the batteries though.

The GWS charger is a great buy for $40. I highly recommend it. I have much more versatile (and expensive) chargers, but I like the ease and versatility of the GWS charger.

gws charger

Where can I find one, and is that an abbreviation or an actual company name? Is there a specific model number?

GWS is the company name. Here are a few places you can get one.

It's the GWS MC2002DC charger. Most places are selling them for around $40

GWS actually stands for Grand Wing Servo. NiCad chargers, unless they are also made for NiMH, do not charge the NiMH properly. They get too hot. The GWS MC2002 charges the NiMH just right. They are just warm but not hot. This will extend the life of the battery.

I have and love the supernova pro peak charger. Auto charges and discharges all Nimh and Nicds up to 20 cells ish.

Just switch on and let it do the job
