Question

Axi for Dave Patrick Super Cub ???

I am considering purchasing a Dave Patrick 1/4 scale Super Cub, and want to power it with an AXI 5330-18 motor on 10 lipo cells.

Would this be a good power choice?

I just ran some rough guesses through Motocalc, and it sure looks like there would be plenty of power. I don't know much about the higher voltages though. Is that 10 cells in series, for 37V? Which cell are you planning on?

I called Dave Patrick; he suggested the AXI 5330-18, for those interested.

Problem is, no Super Cub kits in stock for a few months at least.

Looks like you'll need to plan on something else for Kingston this year

Great choice

ZB at esprit model has a new video posted with two SuperCubs. One powered by a Hacker C50-14xl and the other by the AXI 5330. Both had plenty of power and the AXI sounded wonderful!

I bought that AXI 5330 clipped wing Cub from ZB, fully loaded, batteries charged, and ready to fly. Packed and shipped from Orlando to Toronto.

Thank you very much ZB.

So is that what Adam is going to terrorize us with at Kingston this year? Or is he too busy chasing the fairer sex?

Congratulations, box for Piper Cub was huge.
It took 2 people 2 hours pack all parts.

He's flying his .90-size Zen pattern plane, his F-16, and a new Brio.

(The girls chase him!)

The first flight of my Dave Patrick 1/4 scale Clipped Wing Super Cub was an exhilerating success!

The plane took off, flew a few circuits, two low passes, and a smooth landing.

A photo of the plane (and other club photos) can be seen here.

Three flights so far.

Second flight included a roll; third flight included a few rolls and loops, high and low speed passes. FUN!
