New Product

X-flight's Tom Cat

Hi All

Since our Chief Designer was jailed and woudn't be release unless he come up with a new plane, so the progress is rocket fast!

Here are some photos. The plane would be 1m in length. But would have a lot of challenges.

Regards

Rocky

Looks like you modified Jetset44's wing bearing block, scaled up a little and using some composites. What weight are you projecting and what density foam are you using?

Rocky,

Looks good! It looks like you've epoxied it in their pretty good. As far as your pushrods for the mechanism it looks like its a simple design. Would it be ok to say that your best bet to adjust that area would be using miniature turnbuckles of some sort. Sort of like the ones Dubro makes.

Take a look at these.

Rocky,

How about a Eurofighter or gripen with working conards. Perferably 1 minifan. I would set it up with Het 2w20 motor and 4S-about 700 watts

Please, Please, Please

once you get the Tomcat working you should use the same mechanism in a Tornado

Make the Tornado just a bit smaller, so it's in scale with the Tomcat.

(then a Viggen would be good....nothing to do with swing wing mechanisms but it would just be good... )

This is looking interesting. I'd also like to hear your estimate for AUW.

Dear Eric

Due to the wing retracts system and the body design, this plane is heavy, more than 700g (with everything except batteries), without any fibreglass reinforcement.

finger crossed, not so much confindence about the plane.

Dear All

Tom Cat prototype completed.

Ready to maiden.

The wing retract mechanism may need to improve.

Will test using two 5600kv motors. slight more than 30A for one fan.

Rocky
