Update 4-12-2012

It was nice to be on the dock again at Hansen Dam. It's been a long time for me!

The weather was blustery, with lots of cloud cover and a chilly wind. But we all had jackets on so it was not bad. However, it did feel good whenever the sun peeked through and gave us a bit of warmth.

On hand were AAABrad, a sheetboat driver named Jay, Barnacle Bob, Prop'er, and Kris Kross.

Most of the 'action' was with the sheetboats practicing their racing skills. The most excitement came when Brad's boat got hung up with one of the rubber ball buoy's. He was stuck pretty well. Bob drove his Springer out to try to free him, but something came undone in his Springer after jarring into the sheetboat and his Springer shut down. So now he needed a rescue as well! The wind was very light, but it was eventually blowing him toward shore. Larry aka Prop'er tried to give hime a nudge with his big sheetboat but it was not working out too well. Then Jay got involved with helping Brad and actually got Brad free of the buoy. So then Jay tried to help give Bob's Springer a push but again it was not working out so well. Lastly Brad came over too, so now there were three sheetboats trying to help Bob's Springer get to shore. Thankfully the wind came up some and so it ended up pushing the Springer to shore and Bob got it back.

Of course, the lifeguards are nowhere to be found anymore, so no help from them.

Chris had a mini sheetboat in comparison to the others. He sailed it around and it was moving pretty fast. Then he put his fast little Mini Mono speedboat in the water and that was fun to watch.

At times the sun would come through the clouds and light up the lake, and it almost glowed in a really neat green color.

Oh, and someone stole the Coke machine from in front of the shed next to the dock.

Was the Sheetboat Killer sleeping or on vacation? With all those targets on the water, it would have been easy pickings and Davey Jones sure would have been smiling.
