List places you slope soar R/C models

Me again,

I found a great website the other day which lists slope sites around Australia where R/C models can fly.

The link to the website

If you have anymore to add please do.

For the people in NW suburbs of Melbourne, I have been shown a great slope soaring site on a hill overlooking the Sunbury. My friend said its public land and is a simple grass hill with no obstructions and knows of people who R/C slope soar there.

It is a very big hill as I have only seen it from afar but am going to investigate soon.

Has anyone sloped off Mt Awarang ACT? I've just moved here and would love to find a slope!

Thermals are fantastic though- so there is something to keep gliders up.

I've been to the following slope on the Ausslope site.

"Dixon Park Beach Newcastle NSW NSW SE, SW Great in a SEaster, heaps of lift, even been flying in as low as 5-6kt wind there! Good for beginners as there is virtually no place to loose your model.(Just have to not hit peoples homes that overlook the beach Real pretty, and easily accessed on a public road." (Quote verbatim from site)

All very true- had a great time sloping there but when I came back next time I suddenly noticed signs banning gliders. Funnily the signs were near a grassy area in the park but not obvious at the top of the slope.

Jeep, theres a truly great set of slopes on what we call "One Tree" its located a Summerholme 40 mins west of Bris.
Its the official flying site of the RSSF club [see their website] and permission needs be sought to fly there. There are slopes going off in every direction except NW,all within 1 mins walk of each other. It is a truly stunning site to fly from,as the wind changes you simply fly the model to the next slope while walking behind it LOL.
HTH,, Rod..
