Atone1 that is a sweet looking wing. What is the ws. What did you cover her with and what gear are you using. I like the the colors it.

Thanks ac rite90, here are the specs for you.
The wingspan is 48"; root cord is 11" and the wing tips are 5"
The flight gear:
300 DF 2200kv brushless motor and 1300mah 3 cell lipo from milehigh rc.
5x5 or 6x5 APC speed 400 prop
Jeti eco 12 amp esc or 20 amp Hyperion esc *need to do watts check before maiden
Hitec HS65HB servos
Castle Berg microstamp 4L receiver
Covering: the orange on top is econokote ironed on.
The black on the bottom; which is done first is monokote with elmers craft bond spray glue
that I let tack up before applying.
The AUW is 15 oz right now.
I have a 400DF 2150kv motor that puts out twice the thrust, but the c/g is off with it installed.
I would have to install my 5oz 1800mah lipo and I'm not ready for insane speed.
So I'm going to try the small motor for now.

By larger, how much larger?

I've built a 42" version from the plans on page 15 of this thread. Looks like others have built larger versions as well. The previous page shows a 52" one.

yes, I may look into building that, or I might build one of the same size, just slightly modified so i can fit a new motor with slightly larger prop in it.

I got mine basically painted, some of the paint peeled off so I need to do some touch up, but here it is, top is blue, bottom is black, center is silver, and one wingtip is black/red checkered. all done using enamel rattle cans.

my new one

this has a 40inch ws. a 5t go brushless. 25amp esc. using a KF airfoil. Launched right out of my hand. 2200 3s1p 20c a full size reciever weight is 16oz. flies good still alittle light for heavy wind. now that i know its right i will build another fully covered for the cool factor next i will build a 24"ws for tighter spots. and the prop size is a 6x4 apc. the KF airfoil seems to work ok the stall speed is iffy though

Looks like an ApachePilot Divinity wing there.

I've made blu-cor wings in three sizes, 5-foot, 8-foot, and 10-foot. All three flew, although the 10 footer had some stiffness issues. I am working on a smaller version using depron and shooting for an AUW of less than 10 oz.

Here is some video of my combat wing design. (5 foot span)

Dows protection board, but NOT Protection board III
you can scale it by just taking the dimensions of each part and scaling them down by a certain percentage. you would take the 31inch wingspan and find the percentage that makes 24inch and then use the same percentage to scale down the other dimensions of the templates.
