Foam Wannabe
I would think it would be heavy out of cardboard. Might not take moisture very well either, and I always seem to get some in mornings when I fly.

Just a thought...

Anyone thought of making one of these out of box cardboard?
I'll bet corrugated cardboard made the same way would be as strong or stronger. Wonder how the weight would compare?
To be fair, it would need a new/different thread..... the "Blue Foam" "design" "pattern" "plan" "form" "shape" etc is all good, but cardboard would be an entirely DIFFERENT concept from the "foams" here.... yes, some have done "plastic" "core-board"? whatchyacallit.... too.

Happy Flying,

Cool. I haven't tried cardboard, but with the bluecor being out of the picture, then we may have to give it a try...

let use know how the build goes. You'll love it with the 15 turn. I am still flying the 15 turn on a normals sized bluecor wing, and a little screamers park jet motor on a 42 inch wing. Both are great.

If you were the pilot IN the plane, would it be 22 inches left to right? or front to back?

That's pretty small, I'd recommend a hot 1oz motor max. Keep'er light. If that doesn't work, go with a larger version, like the 31 or 42 incher.

i've used cardboard and coroplast. It's heavy! But cutting out sections of the wing and replacing w' packing tape lightened it up alot.

This was my first "prototype" Flew great but I didnt really add any re-inforcing so it only lasted about 20 flights. I,m flying my second one now. I added some flat carbon and glassed in the battery bay. Has survived some major hits! Came in a little heavy though at 5.9 ounces.Fly,s great but doesn,t glide as well and comes in super hot for a landing!

Still going!

I've probably had 40 - 50 flights on my 34" wing since I built it. Still loving it! I recently upgraded to a Spektrum setup and lightened it by another oz by shedding that heavy hitec 555 receiver. Now I can set Expo on it and it really makes a big difference in the controllability of this wing.

Still my biggest adrenaline rush plane! <- my face looks just like that after I'm done flying...
