i cant say myself, i cant stand PU glue, refuse to use it,,
i'd sooner use Elmers school glue lol

BTW its actually OOPS, srry for the mistake.
it's excellent for cleaning up servo and Rx, ...'residuals', tape, sticker gunk, etc
i shouldve probably butted-out of this one lol
i think goof-off is a similar product tho,,,?

So sand it and then burn it off with lighter fluid, got it.
I could let the PU wear off in a couple of days.
Glue Talk: Does anybody still use the UHu Por Glue?
I use that glue to mount servos in most of my planes.

SS - thanks for the link to the vac former thread, I'll give it a try.

Just thought my wings would look good with a clear canopy.

I would try to find one out of the 92 this guy sells....Surely 1 would be a nice match.

My new 37" Flying Wing

Here it is my new 37" wing.
Went with longer wingtips on this one, they extend 2" past the elevons.
Guessed at the motor cutoff and hit the C/G right on the money. I could act like I know what I'm doing here, but we all know the truth. Well, I hope I can sleep tonight as the old work bench is void of any projects. I'll try to maiden it sometime this week.

Very nice one Atone1!!

OR put my new 6300 2gr Spektrum Rx, 5.4gr outrunner and 4gr CC 6A ESC to work in a 1/8" skinned 20" version. Hmmmmm...

That Sounds like fun! I made a 24" version with a 24gram 3000kv BW and standard 9 gram servos, a 4ch rx, and run it off of 800-1200 3 cells. The thing's a beast and flys super fast, but has the glide ratio of a one-winged butterfly (Its more like an angled sink ). I love it, though. It is a great trainer for a speed plane.

Well here is my contribution:

Night flyer with a stock span:

My 46" span with the same power set up as my night flyer:

And you can see I am not using rudders on this one:

It was strange throwing this thing for its maiden without vertical fins, but it flew fine.

I am currently running 3 cell, 1300 batteries with a 1400kv 12 amp motor. Any cheap suggestions for a 2600ma 3 cell motor to get some good speed out of a larger size wing?

Indoor version?

I flew my first wing this summer (32" KFM2), but indoor season is coming sooner than I would like. I don't see any mention of an indoor version so I'd like to try one using 3mm Depron and an 1811-2000 10 gram motor. The idea is light and slow. Any suggestions for wingspan and prop?

Hey Dis,
Here's the setup I use on my 48" wing and it screams. A 450 3050kv motor from milehighrc's bargain bin.
You might be able to get the motor on the cheap if you get a 40 Pentium ESC to go with it. So email him and make an offer on the motor alone or combo deal. He likes combo deals. The shaft on this motor comes out the same end as the wires and cannot be moved. I just made my mount a little longer. Acts like a heat sink too I noticed last time I flew it.

#2 would be subsonic planes jet power systems
So check out Ken's setups and do a current check on any setups before you fly them. His gear comes ready to roll plug and play, no soldering. The ESC's even have real heat sinks on them, really nice gear.

#3 Headsup has the zoom 400 motors and that would be my 3rd choice up to a 48" wing. I run this motor on my 46" wing which is the one in the video I posted earlier.

Nice looking wings and you are going to start something with those wing tip deflectors? Are they turbulators? The wingnutts are going to have to chime in on this one I bet. Their 2 cents on this subject is going to be priceless.
Going to be lots of moding and testing on this one too.
Maybe the deflectors should go an inch or so behind the elevons?
What degree should they be?
All these ? will be explored in short order.
Well, I could be wrong we'll see.

atone1, thanks for the motor suggestions. I wanna try to build one of these that moves along at a nice clip.

The deflectors are at 45 degree angle to each other and are 1" deep and about 4" long iirc. I was stunned that they worked, and worked well. I think on my next one, I may try hooking them up to servos and use them on the rudder channel or even try a gyro.

It will be neat to see how much they effect speed opened versus closed.

So, it's been forever since I've flown, and I saw my old blucor wings in the back of my closet, they're both in need of repair, butt instead I thought I'd make a new one to put myself back into flying. However, I have a few questions. A. Vertical wing tips, yes? no? How much does it help. B. anyone making cases around their electronics? boxing them in? I tried having them in the wing on my big wing, but I'm going stock span, so not much space for that. I'd like to not have everything laid out on top, but is that not easily available without sizing up?
