Mf 480 ducting


Iīm planing to build a fast EDF with the MF480, and need some help with inlet and outlet area for the MF480.

Thera are probably many posts with this info...but I couldīt find any of them...

Fast with a Minifan means 450watts input power.. suggest researching the Lehner Bl motors.. they can do this reliably..
With that power using the Minifan instruction/recomendations will do the job.

Well there are many parameters to consider (wing area, weight & wing loading, wing profile & ducting etc) but as far as the ducting is concerned I would keep the intake diam close to the fan diam (=69 mm), for fast jets you can reduce it a slight bit. As far as the outlet is concerned for the MF480 you don't want to go below 53 mm diam.

I was thinking fo a Plenum like plane, using my new Hacker B40L (600W). (the starfighter project is resting fot the moment)
