With the right motor and pitch changable blades intact and c of g not a problem i can only imagine this set up more efficient than before, excellent work.

No it won't. You don't need the tail during an autorotation.

That's right. It's quite common to have an undriven tail during autos - the heli just weathervanes into the wind.

My Logo 10 and Viper 90 both have undriven tails. You only need the tail if you're wanting to throw in a couple of loops or piroettes or something on the way down

I don't really see the benifit except for scale applications as mentioned?

If you can get the tail to do exactly the same function with out the belt, there alot less to go wrong and also would/could make a more efficient sytem, ie less current draw on the batterys.
if there was perfect motor that did this i bet people would start bolting them on really quickly, just no one has really pushed the boundaries to far so we dont know.
What you take away in weight you obviously gain in the motor so aslong as the c of g is not a problem then it can only be better if more efficent!, dont forget this is not a one sided tail motor like a piccolo( i pressume) it has a pitch mechanism as per normal, the motor just provides the power for the tail.

And with clever electrics, you could actually have a fully controllable tail on auto. Imagine a switch linked to throttle hold which gave the tail motor reasonable speed, and theT/R pitch neutral setting shifts to the new correct position for tidy autos, and you could then use the rudder independently during the auto. Clever!
