MWE Spring Fling in San Diego, CA May5-7 2006

Hello everyone,

On behalf of the Silent Electric Flyers of San Diego, I wish to announce that the MWE Spring Fling is coming Cinco de Mayo Weekend, the 5th-7th of May 2006. There are more really great things in store for the MWE this year and I encourage all to come and fly! We will have 8 sponsored events with prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, along with the usual noon time demos and a lot of open flying.
Information is located on the 2006 MWE website. There you will find the schedule of events, rules for the various scheduled contests, registration information as well as accommodation ideas and driving directions (as these become available).

We look forward to seeing you!

Hi Pedro,

I'm looking forward to coming down to SD again this year. Glad that you've moved it to a bit later in the year. Hope that this makes the weather better than last year!!!!

Anyway, I see that you have a few contests planned. Is there somewhere one can find the rules to these contests? Maybe I'm jumping the gun but I looked over the SEFSD web site and couldn't find what I was looking for. It couldn't be that my "Old Eyes" are getting a bit foggy, could it?

Thanks Pedro, looking forward to seeing you and the rest of "The MWE Gang" there.

Rules for Electroglide, Foamy Freestyle, Scale Promenade and Limbo Combat are the same as last year. Rules
T-6 pylon races rules can be found here
Rules for the Fastest Foam in the West are not yet confirmed, but you can plan on the following:

1. Aircraft must be made of foam.
2. NO use of a laminating substance such as Resin, Epoxy or balsa sheeting over or under the airfoil
3. Each pilot has a two minute window to make three passes at the radar gun. The top 5 pilots go another round to determine the winner.
4. No recharging or replacing of Batteries.
5. Radar gun will be set at 20 degrees
