I'm not interested in proving anything to you. Take it or leave it its just a helpful suggestion. Maybe I'll do a build thread one of these days. Next time one of the CO guys come to SoCal we can meet up and have a friendly combat session, heck, I'll hold my plane in a dead hover if the wind is any good and allow who ever it is to smack the crap out of my wing for some durability and recovery testing.

I didn't suggest that you give anyone anything. I simply
don't think it can be done. What does your plane weigh?

Ian and I have spent a BIT of time on this stuff and, I like to think we have a little brains, well at least Ian.
Either way, last season Ian and I DESTROYED the competition with our light Bees and I really thought I was a SPECIAL combat pilot at that point. Then I started building for the rest of the pilots and my combat has been WAY less SPECIAL against other Predator Bees. A SWEET build is HUGE for combat, over 50% of the equation in my opinion.
The second part to it is having that wing be SUPER tough. It does not matter how awsome it battles if it gets jacked up on the first big digger since it's not awsome anymore and quickly become a target drone, further demolishing it.
Bro, you do not have to do any sacrifice fly. There is ALWAY plenty of DURIBILITY testing going on when Ian and I fly regaurdless. Show us your stuff and we'll show you ours.
P.S. I had the Super Freak streaking through the DS grove yesterday like a rocket!!! I'll get some video of that too!!!!
All is good, let's work together to find SUPERIOR wings!!!

So a center fin is better for DS - Apples
and winglets are better for combat - Oranges

Are we talking about the same application?

all testing and theories aside, center fin planes become target number 1 during any Zion combat session - I'm a rookie and even that was made clear immediately

No Plane - No Gain
Hmmm. I'll have to fly the old Zagi while a center fin ship is in the air. It seemed to me that _she_ was always target #1.

Of course we also do both at the same time, and DS combat
increases the frequency and brutality of the impacts.

Yep. Here for what's supposed to be all day training. But I know yesterday they got out in time to be at a slope prior to sunset.

Man, from vail to georgetown was a to drive lastnight.

weather.com, the least reliable of them, says 8-9mph, nw-ne around 3 - 4 pm..

Another site say's at DIA about 11mph sw-w around that time.

wunderground around 9-6mph from nw that time....

nw, isn't that switchback direction?

Well, gotta get to that class now. Dunno when we'll be done. But at a minimum, I'll probably drive up zion on the way out and stop and visit if anyone is flying.

NW is best on top. the Switchbacks really like WSW. The wind talker says NNW @ 0mph and 26degF. But I don't have windows So I don't even know if the sun is up. It wasn't when I got here.

Okay Karl, I'm almost afraid to ask. What is a "Super Freak"? Is it a kit you modified?

Super Freak is a Bee with an added wedge of foam in the center
to take away some of the sweep. At one time I think it was
also a single fin plane, but is now sporting tiplets.
