Question

Whatís Better than a Blade CP and Smaller than a Trex?

I have two helis, my Blade CP and my Trex. I like my Blade because I can fly it around the house and in other small spaces, but itís a bit jumpy at times, and I donít like that 4 in 1 stuff, and want to use my Tx. I love my Trex, solid, stable, easy to fly, but you ready need to fly that thing outside.

So, are there any Micro helis that are as good as the Trex, but in a smaller size? Iíve been looking at a few but they all seem to have some drawbacks.

Just thought Id add, you really shouldnt be flying a CP in your house (unless its huge). I know its possible, and I know lots of people do it, but that doesnt stop it being dangerous.

It is available as a kit and an ARF. The kit one is a bit harder to put together than some others. There are a couple of finicky steps.
More information is available on the MaxiR mania forum.

Thanks. Who has the best price for the ARF? What are the best set up for this thing?

Thanks!

I bought mine ( base kit version ) from Icare at a show in late fall, and only got it put together around the New year.
Various setups are discussed on the forum I posted earlier.
I have only flown mine a bit, and with the stock setup it flies very well. It reminds me a lot of my Logo10, but also of a Shockflyer.
Very solid, but light and powerful.
I can't wait for better weather to start to push the envelope a bit more.
I would post a picture, but I am embarrassed to say mine has a pretty rough Shogun canopy on it.
Functional but not much to look at.

Wow, I was going to get the HoneyBee King from E-Sky for my next heli but I might just look at the 3D Pro as well. It's a little more expensive than the King but looks to be a bit bigger and much nicer made.

Wow! The 3D Pro looks like a good next heli for me too. Price is right as well.

The thing about the Maxir is that even the base kit doesn't require one single upgrade to fly 3d with.

I'm always surprised to see so many that don't see beyond base kit price...

HavingFun2002,

I have the same issues. Two months ago I thought anyone would be crazy to do this and here I am...

I got the super landing gear from helidirect. Just converted the BCP to brushless main, got a CC10 for the tail, waiting for the brushless tail motor. Picked up an Align 500x head holding gyro.

The BPC (or what's left of it) weighs right at 400g. I figure it will end up around 450. The heli expert at the local heli shop (far and few between) flew it with a dozen spectators and said it was by far the most stable BCP he's ever flown and solid for any heli, spectators said it looked like the best of any bigger heli flying.

With an aluminum frame on the horizon and CNC head it won't be a BCP except perhaps the blades and a part or two.

Great learning experience, build as fast or slow as you like, electronics for another heli and flies in small areas, like an 8X12 foyer!

Of course, nothing is cheap by the time it's in the air including the stock BCP.

I gotta agree...I'm lovin' my NR3D...crazy head speed out of the box which makes the bird very responsive, and the tail holds way better than my Blade CP ever did. Nice feature on the Venom is the adjustable pitch knobs on the radio.
