Jeti 30/3 on 8 cells

Has anyone tried using a Jeti 30/3 on 8 cells? If so what prop did you use? I like to se if I can drop some weight by using fewer cells than the 120 I'm using now.
Thanks
Dave

From what I've seen from a friends phasor 30/3, 8 cells will not do for that motor. You'll need a minimum of 10cells to get that 30/3 alive.

Depends on the model. My Falcon flies just fine on a 30/3, 8xCP1300 and a 12.5x10 prop (short motor runs, 10 second or so). The Zagi also does well - 8xCP1300, 9x5 prop, I can fly full throttle with close to unlimited vertical for about 6 minutes..

8 cells works fine on this motor.

ANDY,

How does the 30/3 compare to the 15/4 on the zagi? How is the vertical and flight duration, and speed?

Thanks in advance.

I fly a converted glow kit on a Jeti 30/3 and 8 or 10 cells.
The model weighs about 3 1/4 lb with 8 cells and ROG's with ease. I'm using a 10/6 folder because thats what I had to hand after breaking a couple of APC's. I use the same prop for 8 or 10 cells 'cos I'm too lazy to change it. 10 cells does give a bit more grunt, but 8 hauls it round the sky fine.

Mark,

What is the name of you converted glow that you have on a 30/3. Are you using 1300, 1700, 2400? What kind of duration do you get?

Thanks

The model is a JB Aviation MiniSport. It's a 48" span high wing aerobatic model. It was built pretty much stock, I moved the servo's in the fuz back to make way for the cell pack, built a motor mount and changed the heavy wheels for light sponge ones. I use Sanyo 2400's, on 8 cells I get about 7 or 8 minutes of mixed flying.
I think JB's website is www.jbaviation.com

Mark,

Are you able to get somewhat vertical with 8cells on your 30/3?
