whatala,
what motors did you use, and do you have any pics of the plane with the brushless motors that you could post?

Here are a couple of pics of the C-130 I recently started assembling, the fuselage is just about finished and ive joined the wings but yet to paint them. I intend to use the stock power setup with a 2s lipo. The colour scheme I have chosen is from a Royal Saudi Air Force C-130 but for simplicity I have used the USAF decals included in the kit, more pics to follow.

Hi Chris,
Looks good with the color scheme. Did you use spray can or pain brush?

Its handpainted with a very soft brush using ready mixed waterbased acrylic, I used masking tape to get the straight lines for the nose section and for the undersides which are dark grey

Hand painted? Are you an artist? That is awesome job.

Hi,
I just finished my second one, still need some touchup of the scratches here and there. Waiting for maiden this weekend if weather let me do it.

I finally got the wing painted, now all that remains is to paint and fit the motors + nacelles, hopefully I can get this done quickly and have the model ready for its maiden by the end of Feb.

Wow, that does look a lot like mine - and I didn't even plan for this scheme since I wanted it to be United Nations (but that looked awful)
ps: the small windows on the side are wrong, just mentioning (and yes I noticed my nose is wrong, working on that tonight)

Here's a couple of pictures of my 'Stretch'. I started last summer but got held up with work and having a baby, but now she's out of the cupboard again.
This is it just before paint, showing the blue foam plugs. They are to scale, and give the correct length of stretch for a British Hercules C130J

Here it is just after paint and before decals.

And here with my standard length C130K to show stretch!

Stand by for more pictures and maybe a test flight, weather permitting.

One of my last flights, this time off grass. Flies very well even with the heavy paintjob (1820 grams RTF now)

RC C-130 Hercules 1.80m Willem Bravenboer (0 min 49 sec)

Love the stretch version! I really want the GWS version too, too bad it's inaccessible for me

Thanks, is it just the fact that they're out of production now, that makes it inaccessible? I did feel a little bit funny about cutting the fuselage up as soon as I bought it. It was one I got from ebay, from a guy who had it in his cupboard for years! I don't know of any more for sale, even in the USA. I wish they had produced the Cargotrans in epp foam rather than expanded polystyrene.

Yeah as far as I know. I'm really trying to look after these 2, as I don't know if I'd be able to get another one! I really want an Islander too, but so far haven't seen any unbuilt ones
