They've been around a while, they are very easy to fly but slow, so you don't want any wind.

Durability depends what happens to it - they crash well because they are slow and the prop is protected but if it gets stuck in a tree it'll be a different story.

I don't know why you are looking at it, but an aero-ace may well be better for you.

Thanks for the response.. I was actually looking at RC Helicopters when I came across the sky surfer... Slow and Easy may work a little better for me...
I am looking at doing video, and could easily mount a wireless camera to it...
Do you have any ideas on max altitude?

I think I saw one of these on the Raidentech website. Looks like it may be a knock-off, but for $55 may want to check it out (I think Hobby Lobby sells the same thing for around $200 or so)

I've got one.
it's very nice to fly.

slow fly, but you can do aerobatics with it.
also a looping (but be very carrefull while you try it because if the model falls into the paraglider... too bad for it).
The only bad thing i had with it is about the receiver. i have many radio looses with it.hopefully, the motor stops and the model starts to get down nicely. it'll never crash alone. you can stop the emitter and wait for it to get on the ground. it's a paraglider. the only "plane" which can fly without pilot, only weight...

i also fly the real one...

Thanks! How about wireless video systems for RC's? Anyone have any recommendations?

hi,
i have a skysurfer too, and i love it.
i can just recomment it, but i would buy the version without RC, and put in an own one or by one ( it's cheaper i think ,and you get a better range of the RC)
to the video question:
http://homepage.sunrise.ch/mysunrise...surfer/sky.htm
on this page you get many information about the SkySurfer and there are a few links to other sites (mostly german ones, but i think one or two english too)

I think the standard radio is the usual cheap 27MHz AM stuff - in which case I wouldn't go over about 100 feet in case it flies off into the wide blue yonder...

With 'proper' radio you'll be able to fly up to the point where you can't see it and become a hazard to aircraft...

Have a look at the aerial photograph forum for ideas about cameras, there are several options. My advice is not to worry whether this plane can do it all, just get started, see if you like it and in a few years you'll be hooked and have bought (or made) several planes.

Try this link for the wireless video.

http://www.WirelessMicroColorCam.com

They cater to the hobbiest with very good after sales support. They can modify the airborne part of the system to reduce the weight.
