Mig 15 kit

Looking for a Mig 15 edf kit, I saw one today In Morgan Hill. That thing must have been going 200 mph, on 24 2400 cells with an aevox 1415 and a home built fan unit. It flew for about 4 min. I think, I was astonished at the speed. JET LIKE! The owner built the plane from scratch, looking for a kit out there, any suggestions??? Thanks

Take a look at the K&A kit. Its based on Steve Toschi's Mig which I've seen fly. It is FAST!

wtghost1, that sounds like SteveC's Mig. It is one of the originals from Steve Toschi and is now sold by K & A. I went down there on Sunday and there were only 13 planes present. I was hoping to see Steve's Mig fly again but he wasn't present. Oh Well!

Where did you go? To see Steve? I have checked out the mig from KAmodels and it looks good. Although I am looking for a model that will accept a 5" fan. I want to use a Aveox 1415 with an E Turbax I 5" from EJF. Running on 21 or 24 cells. 2000 or 2400's. Anybody out there seen this Mig 15 on the market???

The Santa Clara County Tomcats hosted a fan fly this past weekend. This was at thier home field just south of San Jose.

I was there on Saturday. That is when I saw this Mig 15 powered on 24 2400 cells. The Guy that was flying it was from Lodi. I talkd to him and his buddy, but didn't catch their names. I would really like to talk to them some more. Excellent plane. I would like to find out more info..

For those interested, the fan in the picture is for an F-86. That fan has two motors and a total of 14 blades inside a 66mm duct.

Haldor, you're close on the power. I'll have to get a fresh charge on the batteries and start taking measurements. It flies for about 5 minutes (full power) on 24 RC2400 cells. The motor is an Aveox 1415/2Y

I wish the radar had been on for the second flight. Those 24 cells don't get the best charge after sitting for several weeks. The next time around certainly had more power. I could tell by how quickly it climbed back up after a pass. I think it can close in on 170 with the right conditions. A friend of mine has one of those speed traps, so I WILL find out!

wt:is that the atwater near glendale?.......gregg
