Vertical RC Katana with Brushless setup
If I can figure out a way to fund a new project I would to build the Katana and put a brushless power system in it. I want the ability to lean to hover with plenty of power to pull out of hover.
I was thinking a Hacker B2015L geared 4:1 and 8 600AE packs as well as my 9 cell 1100 NiMH packs. At just under 13 amps I can have about 1.3:1 power to weight ratio. Is there a more economical brushless setup to use? Possibly any geared mega motors or anything? Thanks, Kenny |

I'm saving for a b26s or b22s hacker motor for the same plane and a switch back. I'm going to have to make some sort of power pod or something to switch the motor between planes because I can't aford two brushless motors. If proped right either of these motors should give better than 1:1 power to weight ratios. I'm planing to use8-9 cell 720nimhs and possibly 7-8 cell 500mah nicds.
which is better the 22s or the 26s? I know the katana will hover on a 26s on 9 cells but would a 22s be able to hover on 8 cells? |
