So what do you guys think about putting one of the Little Screamers on a Park Jet F-15 or F-18?

Jim,
Sorry I didn't answer sooner! Hopefully didn't hang you up? All LS motors are 3mm shaft size.

Thanks,
Bob

I think it would work great in either the 100% F-15 or F-18 (at least as well as the Himax), but those are pretty big and draggy airframes for this motor so it won't be able to deliver all the speed it's capable of. For best results, I'd scale the F-15 and F-18 down a bit, perhaps to 75% to 85%, to provide a better balance between high speed and low speed performance. The LS motor weighs so little that the smaller airframes will still work great with it.

I did a twin outrunner design on my F-14.

I used two Hyperion 2205-34 outrunners controlled individually by their own Phx 10. With such a nice model, I was concerned with one motor shuting off in mid-flight. Both motors are powered by one 2100 3Cell. The reason for this is if you ran two batteries, (one to each motor) and one of them went out, for a split second, you would have more thrust on one side than the other. By running one battery they would both quit at the same time and allow for a nice safe glide down in the worst case scenerio.

I used GWS 7x3.5 HD prop. I mounted the stick mounts in the lower/outer corners of the exhaust ports. The tips just barely clear, but I have had no problems.

My post are 1788, 1790, and 1791.

These post give a little more detail on how I did all this. There are a couple of short videos that will let you know what you might expect. I love the sound of the twins!

Hope this helps,
Reegan
