How Do You Check Out An Outrunner Or Inrunner Brushless Motor To Know Its Still Good Without Pluging It Into An Esc & Battery. (Don't Want To Let The Smoke Out Another Lipo Battery.)

you could hook it up to a couple of regular alkaline D cells like people do to break motors in.

That was only BRUSHED motors. It can easily do some serious damage to a BRUSHLESS motor .

Other than checking the windings for continuity and checking that it turns freely there's not a lot you can do without an ESC.

Like slipstick says, except that even if you don't know what the resistance should be you can check that it's the same across each of the three pairs of terminals. If it is, and it's a small number (or fraction) of ohms, that's usually a good omen.

There is no breaking in period needed on a brushless motor. It's brushless. On a brushed that what you were breaking in.

Correct. As there are no brushes that need to be seated thru a break-in period, there is no break-in.
