Quite a few of the chaps at our club have now invested in folding plastic picnic tables - the sort of thing with a mild steel or aluminium frame that folds into a case and has four seats attached. Apparently they come exceedingly cheaply in the local DIY stores or caravan centres. I have an estate car myself so don't use one.

Pick up an old ironing board, they work great as a field table. It is high enough and you can work on both sides.

The only El Caminos that I have ever heard of are as seen at the Moulin Rouge ![]() An estate car is what you chaps call a station wagon- except over here they generally don't have any wood on the sides of them these days. Best modelling accessory after a Dremel IMHO. cheers Leccy [This message has been edited by leccyflyer (edited 05-15-2001).] |

For my other hobby (astronomy) I use a table that rolls up for nice compact and easy transport. You can check it out at www.telescope.com in the accessories section or there abouts.
But, I've heard (though never seen) that you can find the same table for a bit less in the camping department of stores like Walmart. Mitch |

I use a black and decker workmate bench. Folds up to fit in my volvo estate and is good for clamping things at the field.

I have a similar one that does have cracks between the slats (works great for keeping a rocket from rolling away while you prep it, but things can fall through the cracks. Also the top of mine is aluminium so you cold short any bare wires out - but I try to avoid bare wires at the field. It cost $19.95 at Walmart. - Roger |

Whilst I'm not a huge car buff that is a very smart looking model carrier you have there- very swish indeed. Do the tyres squeal when you go around corners ![]() El Camino - does that mean we are going to have lots of storms this summer? cheers Leccy |
